This timeless issue is mainly notable for Stan Lee and Jack Kirby adding a new dimension to the book's treatment of the X-Men as a persecuted race, with Trask funding the Sentinels by proclaiming mutants to be a threat to national security. These characters would all be major players in the X-Men's acclaimed big-screen franchise. Now, with Marvel Studios set to revive the teen mutant team, anticipation runs high for the Sentinels return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
