Al Feldstein cvr/art; 3rd issueIf you are like me and had no idea what the name of obscure fanzine Squa Tront meant, you can find your answer within the pages of Weird Fantasy #15 (#3), apparently, it is a Martian exclamation expressing surprise. The devil is in the details as they say, and a great deal of the fun that can be gleaned from reading classic comics is rewarded by being attentive to the small moments. EC strove to place their stories in a believable universe much like our own to make their tales relatable, whether they be about murder, Martians, or Morlocks, and this grounding in reality helped make their far-fetched sci-fi tales all the more digestible. The stories in this issue are typical of EC’s output, concise, well-executed, with a punchline that never fails to hit home.
