Blackstone CopyWhile EC and others got all of the heat during the feverish witch-hunt days of the 1950s horror comics craze, Stan Lee's Atlas imprint had its share of classically ghoulish covers, notably this beloved wedding-from-Hell cover by the great Bill Everett, whose eye for detail and skilled hand lend this image a campy sheen that sticks in the memory. As with most pre-code horror, this classic survives in very low numbers, falling victim to low print runs, overzealous parents armed with scissors or Zippos, and a readership more likely to toss unwanted comics than to lovingly preserve them for posterity.
