Bob Kane/Jerry Robinson classic Joker "double guns" cvr

Detective #69 sports a classic cover that also returned the Joker to his place as one of the most beloved and creepiest villains of the Golden Age. Jerry Robinson's two-gunned depiction of the Clown Prince of Crime lends the Joker a sense of menace that had been somewhat lacking after the introduction of Robin. Collectors know that the contents back up the striking imagery, as well. "The Harlequin's Hoax" is a classic Batman story full of intrigue and action as the Joker engineers a dastardly plot involving mysterious gifts and missing body parts.

Detective Comics #69’s iconic Jerry Robinson cover looks incredible on this 5.5 CGC Universal Grade copy which has off-white to white pages. The classic Joker cover is stunning, with a vibrant orange and yellow logo contrasting perfectly with the crisp, clean, black background. This copy has amazing eye appeal, especially for its grade, featuring incredibly clean images of Batman, Robin, and The Joker. Released in November 1942, Detective #69 went on to become one of the most recognizable Golden Age Batman issues and has been prized ever since. Only 119 copies are recorded on the CGC Census, making it a tough book to find. Batman is arguably the most popular and recognized superhero worldwide, and the Joker is his most iconic enemy. Classic Batman comics are constantly rising in value, and this beautiful example is a surefire investment as well as an awesome collectible.

Overstreet Guide 2021 FN- (5.5) value = $5,225.
