Blackstone CopyAfter the end of WWII many of the superheroes in the comics were faced the conundrum of who to turn their attention towards, and Captain America would be one of the heroes most radically affected by the changing times, as the Axis threat provided his meat and potatoes for the entire duration of the conflict. Here we see the First Avenger taking on a gang of art thieves who present an obviously comedic and hapless enemy for Cap to thrash. The point of interest here is the interior of the MMA and the precious pieces of art that reside within, pieces that provide an engaging backdrop unlike any other in the history of the series. This issue is of interest to dedicated students of he comic art form, as it quite accurately displays the confusion and subsequent scramble to reconfigure the cape book into something appetizing for the post-war reader.
