Blackstone CopyThe Golden Age version of Captain America reaches the end of the road in this issue, due to poor sales of the series reboot, the First Avenger was once again shelved, and would have to wait about a decade to be literally thawed out to return to his deserved place of prominence in Marvel's Silver Age takeover of the superhero marketplace. This comic is of particular historical interest though, being the final issue of the run of Captain America Comics, as well as a virtual death knell of the Golden Age style. Once Atlas was rechristened as Marvel Comics, they company would grow into the industry titan it is today, and Captain America would lead the charge, making this 1950s curio a special piece of the character's fascinating career.
