Murphy Anderson pencils and inks; cover +bonus; 1970; image size 10" x 15"The Justice League, Batman, Green Lantern, The Flash, The Atom, Green Arrow, and Black Canary mourn what they believe is the death of Superman as the end of the world is prophesied by a sign wielding peacenik in this fabulous late Silver Age cover by the great Murphy Anderson. Anderson was one of DC's most highly regarded Silver Age artists and this cover is a great example of why, with its dramatic tease and clean meticulous drawing. The Superman figure and the man with the sign were Photostatted for repositioning, the original drawings are underneath the stats. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition, a small portion of the Green Arrow image from the left hand charter portrait stat is missing.
Also included are the original color guide, a production proof of the cover, a copy of the issue, and Anderson's original mailing envelope that the artwork was stored in.
