Lou Fine, who rendered the horrific image that adorns the cover of Wonderworld Comics #13, was one of the young, working-class New Yorkers who helped build the comic book business in the Golden Age. Laboring with other local talents like Jack Kirby, Fine would go on to work on titles like the Blue Beetle, The Black Condor, and The Flame, whose adventures appear in this very issue.
