Geof Darrow pencils; Criterion Collection illustration; 2019; image size 16.25" x 22"Darrow's meticulous, highly detailed drawing is on full display in this huge illustration, created for the Criterion Collection's massive boxed set of the Showa era Godzilla films as the cover for 1971's Godzilla vs. Hedorah (aka Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster). Darrow's pencil art is remarkable, the amount of detail that he manages to incorporate is awe inspiring, the details are so dense there's something new to discover every time you look at it. This illustration was published directly from these pencils, per Darrow's Facebook page, "I did this piece for the Criterion Godzilla box set. I didn't have time to ink it so they shot it from this pencil finish." Pencil on paper. Art is in very good condition, because of it's size there is some wear along the edges of the paper. Signed by Darrow with a self portrait in the right margin.

Geofrey "Geof" Darrow is an American comic book artist, best known for his work on comic series Shaolin Cowboy, Hard Boiled and The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, which was adapted into an animated television series of the same name, as well as his contributions to The Matrix series of films.
