Action Comics #10 marks Superman's third cover appearance — and it's a classic, too, as Joe Shuster reflects America's conflicted emotions over returning to battle while the First World War was still seared into the world's consciousness. The comics industry would offer several covers in this tradition, with Superman seemingly battling against war as a concept than any defined enemy.
Action #10's lead story offers something equally unconventional in a Superman tale, as the Man of Steel goes undercover in a prison to expose a brutal warden. Zatara also appears as the most enduring of the two-fisted Action backup stars. "Treasure of Ghengis Khan" has the magician taking on the Tigress, with the Golden Age villainess already making her sixth appearance as Zatara's regular rival. Today, Action Comics #10 remains another extremely rare early Superman comic that commands top dollar on the Golden Age market.

This conserved copy of the third-ever cover appearance of Superman has led a rough-and-tumble existence, likely being handed around a treehouse by a gang of dreamy-eyed kids as they imagine being able to fly like their beloved Man of Steel. Whatever the history of this comic, it has shown the tenacity to survive for decades, although the cover is married to the interior, this is one of only 43 copies of Action #10 registered on the CGC boards, making this book a very special copy for some Superman fans out there who have been hoping against hope to obtain this special issue for their collection.
