Brian Bolland Robin #1 homage!From DC’s Modern Age – Original comic art of “Robin - Damian Wayne” The Son of Batman perched on a gargoyle with “Nightwing – Dick Grayson” at his side.
Breath-taking published Robin cover! Created as a homage to Brian Bolland’s iconic Robin #1 cover art (Nov 1991). Suayan’s cover art was published (Jul 2022) as the variant cover for this issue. Extraordinary!
The art is accomplished in markers and acrylics over graphite on Bristol board, and measures approximately 11 x 17 inches. The artist signed and paid tribute to Brian Bolland (in the right center of the art field). The artist signed the piece a second time in the upper right margin. The work is in excellent condition.
The title and other text elements are recreations on an acetate overlay.

Mico Suayan (born 1980) is a Filipino comic book artist that is best known for his extraordinary cover art work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics and Valiant Comics. His first published work was for Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight #9 (vol. 5) series in April 2007 (as penciler & inker) for the story titled: “Midnight Sun” Chapter Three: For the Occasion. Of the 262 covers the artist has produced to date, this would be one of his finest works!
