Ruben Blades CopyTo exploit the science-fiction trend taking American
pop-culture by storm in the 1930s, Fox published Science Comics in the mold of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. Originally named Electro, their main cover attraction for the eight-issue run of Science Comics was Dynamo, a hero who was accidentally zapped by electrodes and ended up with super electric powers that helped him fly, shoot lightning bolts from his hands, and create force fields. Sharing the pages of Science Comics were a gang of heroes the likes of The Eagle, Cosmic Carson, Perisphere Payne, and (here's a good name for a villain) Dr. Doom. Boasting impressive artwork by Lou Fine, Jack Kirby, Dick Briefer, and Joe Simon, Science Comics set itself apart from the pack by employing a slightly different futuristic slant on the Golden Age anthology book, keeping the sci-fi pulp flame burning.
