Joe Kubert pencils and inks; "Call for a Tank" page 3; 1957; image size 13" x 18"From Joe Kubert, one of the greatest illustrators of war comics ever, comes this fabulous twice-up page from the issue's cover feature 'Call for a Tank.' The page features some classic WWII imagery, including a great panel of a German artillery bunker being hit by a grenade. Pen and ink. Art is in good condition, there is overall wear, including a tear that goes 1/4 of an inch into panel 3 and a horizontal crease where the page had been folded in half.
Artist Information
Joe Kubert (Sept. 18, 1926 - Aug. 12, 2012) began his career at the age of 13. He was also an art teacher and founder of The Kubert School. He is best known for his work on the characters like Sgt. Rock, Hawkman, Tor, Son of Sinbad and the Viking Prince.
