A 15% BUYER'S PREMIUM WILL BE ADDED TO THIS ITEM AT CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION ow pages classic Schomburg Holocaust cover (4/45)One of the toughest Caps to find and one of the most graphic covers ever published, this issue depicts the Holocaust with Nazis burning Jews alive in ovens. Many of the early comic creators were European Jews and they knew what was happening to their families and friends. They used comic books to spread the word and make people aware of the atrocities that were taking place in Europe.
Distinguished by an Alex Schomburg cover that depicted one of the first holocaust scenes in comics, readers relished in the stories "Invitation to Murder," in which Cap and Bucky investigate a possible killing involving the estate of a late millionaire, "The Five Traitors From Berlin," inked by the not-yet-famous Carmine Infantino, where a crime boss disguised as Captain America frames the super-hero for a crime spree, and two other stories, "The Mystery of the Puff Adder Skulls" and "The Case of the Forged Check!" Good; solid golden age fare that will always be both intriguing and valuable.
