A remarkable page from Wood, one of the finest artists to ever grace the comic book world, from the classic EC story 'EC Confidential' which features a fictional publisher of EC Comics wondering how his creators (the actual writers and artists of EC) are predicting events happening around the world. In this page, the best page of the whole story, a group of Martians comes to confront the staff and disintegrates them. The EC creators depicted in the page include Bill Gaines, Al Feldstein, Marie Severin, Joe Orlando, Jack Davis, Al Williamson, George Evans, and Wood himself. It is eventually revealed that the staff are actually aliens from Venus who are using the stories to warn the world of the dangers of the Martians. An exceptional piece from an exceptional artist, one of his best. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition.
Panels 3 and 7 are both drawn on craftint and patched into the page, the alien in panel 6 is also patched in on textured paper so that Wood could get the effect he wanted in the artwork. Everything is original art, no stats. Wood would use patched in craftint panels often in his work at EC. All of the lettering is hand drawn on the page. There is one line in panel 7 that is a patch, but it is hand lettering.

Wally Wood is an American comic book artist/ writer who is also one of the founding artist for Mad comics. In addition to penciling numerous comic book pages, Wally also ventured into product illustration, music album covers, and trading cards. Wally's most notable works include the aforementioned Mad comics, Marvel's Daredevil, and Weird-Science Fantasy for EC comics.
