Action Comics #14 continues the introduction of The Ultra-Humanite as Superman's first real nemesis (and his first real challenge after several issues of just beating up mobsters). There's also a henchman who looks an awful lot like Lex Luthor running around in the background, and even more historical importance with an ad for
Superman #1 ad at the end of the Man of Steel's story.
There's also a lot of historical impact with the second appearance of Zatara the Magician. He'd also claim the cover as one of the new super-powered heroes who'd soon replace the more pulp-inspired characters who backed up Superman in earlier issues of
Action — but there's still a new adventurer in town with the first appearance of Clip Carson!
