MARVEL TREASURY SPECIAL (1974-76) Issue #1 Splash Page
VF: 8.0
Captain America's Bicentennial Battles was an oversized one-shot published in the summer of '76. Many of the Marvel Treasury Editions featured reprinted material, but this issue was full of new artwork, all penciled by the maestro, Jack Kirby. This splash page from Chapter Five presents Captain America on the moon, transported there by Mr. Buda who is determined to help Cap understand the role that America plays in Earth's history, while simultaneously cashing in on the Bicentennial craze sweeping the nation. Rendered with the beloved Kirby panache comic fans young and old have all come to adore, this page offers a fantastic study of the First Avenger drawn by the "King" of comics at the apex of his formidable skills.
