John Buscema's personal, hand annotated copy of Stan Lee's script for the issue, plus a copy of the original character design for Lee's Superman by Adam HughesWhen Stan Lee joined DC for this special project in 2001, Buscema was the only one of his classic Marvel collaborators to join the project. Bringing his love for pulp heroics and his refined drawing to this new, bold take on the first superhero, Buscema used this project, one of the last of his career, to cement himself as one of the finest artists in the business. This copy of Lee's script for the one-shot features Buscema's own annotations and notes, breaking Stan's 'Marvel Style' plot down into pages and panels.

'The Michelangelo of comics.' Buscema was one of the mainstays of Marvel Comics during its 1960s and 1970s heyday, best known for his run on the The Avengers and The Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword-and-sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian. In addition, he penciled at least one issue of nearly every major Marvel title, including long runs on two of the company's top books, Fantastic Four and Thor.
