Anybody who grew up in the 1980s understands the significance of this comic book to collectors and investors. This rare example of a Copper Age Classic is also the Action #1, the Showcase #4, and Amazing Fantasy #15 of the 80s.

Self-published by scrappy creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, this book contains the origin stories of the Ninja Turtles and the Splinter, plus the introduction of Shredder and the Foot. The moody cover (an homage to Frank Miller's Ronin mini-series) features deep blacks and bloody reds as our heroes stand ready against the forces of evil. Eastman and Laird's characters were soon to be toned down and made more child-friendly. In these early books, however, they pulled no punches on the way to becoming top pop-culture icons. The time is nigh to grab your own copy before the price soars once again.

This stunning CGC 9.8 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 is the centerpiece of the many exciting TMNT items in Event Auction #48. The copy features pristine white pages as well as an immaculate example of the iconic Kevin Eastman cover that introduced the world to the Turtles for the very first time.

Featuring the first appearances and origins of all four Turtles, as well as Master Splinter and the nefarious Shredder, this book formed the basis for a pop-culture revolution. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 inspired the indie comics boom of the 90s, as well as the countless TMNT movies, toys, cartoons, video games, and every other form of licensed merchandise known to man.

The book is tied for the highest-graded copy of this historic issue. A 9.8 TMNT #1 recently broke records in September 2021, selling for a whopping $245,000. This book is already the most valuable comic of the last 40 years and only keeps skyrocketing upwards. Could this be the first Bronze Age comic poised to sell for $1 million someday?

Overstreet Guide 2021 NM- (9.2) value = $16,500.
